amazing oatmeal muffins, less than $1 to make!!

Okay, everyone knows we're broke as crap. This week was particularly harsh, and snacks were not on the grocery list. Luckily I already had some apples and applesauce... which of course gets old after almost no time. So I tried to find a recipe with ingredients I have stocked. Found one! Oatmeal muffins, and they are SO good...

First I gathered my ingredients. You'll need a cup of flour, a cup of brown sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla, a teaspoon of baking powder, a teaspoon of baking SODA, 1/2 cup vegetable oil and...

two BEATEN eggs and...

one cup of COOKED oatmeal, so fix it... 1 and 1/3 cup water brought to a boil with a pinch to 1/8 teaspoon salt, then mixed with one cup of oats

preheat your oven to 350.

mix all the wet ingredients: the two beaten eggs, the one cup of cooked oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, and 1 cup of cooked oatmeal in ONE large bowl

mix all of the dry ingredients in another bowl, the: one cup flour, one cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and one teaspoon of baking powder

then mix both bowls together of course!! Even the batter is good, nom nom nom!

Grease your muffin pan or use cupcake liners and cook for 25 minutes at 350.

et voila, bon appetite!

these muffins obviously SMELL and LOOK so good, they propted my overweight little chub Jasper, who turned 6 months old today along with his twin brother Hunter, to pull himself up and STAND on his own for the first time... in an attempt to steal his sister's muffins, lol.

  1. Oh, that looks so good. I wish I had the ingredients to make those, I'll have to start buying baking products again (I haven't seriously baked, baked, since I was pregnant with Kaylee).
    Oh nom nom nom!

  4. everything needed was stuff I keep stocked... I tend to buy in bulk so that when we have no money, I still have what I need from when we did have some extra bucks, stuff like flours and sugars and diapers and such...
