mini nature walk

Today Allen was home all day so I was able to really spend some good quality time with my daughter. We snuggled on the couch, we hung out and picked up the kitchen. We took a nap together. We learned about how to cut and glue and she made some rad art.

We also got outside in the sweltering summer heat and had a little nature walk. First we sat down and while getting dressed talked about what we might find outside. She came up with squirrels, trains, cats, sky, grass... I added trees, flowers, clouds and leaves to the list. We took a plastic ziplock outside, and we collected *specimens*, which she thought was pretty awesome. Then we glued the specimans to a peice of paper and made a nature collage. Check it out;

  1. I completely love this idea. I might have to try this tomorrow with Zoey. She loves, loves, loves collecting things! And then she can have awesome art as well...

  2. it was initially for the rainbow theme, but really at this time of year it was hard to find *specimens* in all colors... better to find the colors in like early summer, late spring

  5. Aww, this is super cool! I am jealous and can't wait for the days to come when we can do fun stuff like this! I remember collecting pine cones and leaves and stuff with the girls when they were little... kinda sad when they grow up... =(
